It’s almost upon us; the biggest day in the year!
Only 3 weeks to go…….. until my birthday!!
I can’t believe that it’s only one week left before we break for half term! This half term has gone so quickly. Just in case you’d forgotten, next Friday, 10th February, we finish for a week and return to school on the 20th Feb. (only 5 days before my birthday!)
Which reminds me, we have Pancake day to look forward to as well. We’ll have the Great Pancake Challenge and Pancake races too. I am the reigning Pancake Challenge Champion! I aim to keep my crown for another year also.
This week I met with our old friend Miss Kershaw. She wanted to discuss her return to work. We have all missed her while she’s been away having Barry the baby. (I still think it’s an odd name for a girl!) We are hoping she’ll come back in June. She’s thinking about this now. Come on Miss Kershaw…. We need you more than Barry!
I noticed that most teddies survived the Teddy Bear’s Hospital session this week in Key Stage 1. The next session is next week.
We had so many people come to Family Bingo tonight that we only just had enough game cards! Nearly 80 parents and children. We've gone through 600 game cards in two sessions! I’ve just been on Ebay and ordered 3000 new game cards, a new Bingo Wheel (it broke tonight!) and about 60 dobbers! We’ll be rocking ready for Family Bingo again on Thursday 23rd Feb. (2 days before my birthday!)
Next week is Family Quiz night. We’ll have loads of prizes so come along and test your knowledge. There’ll be questions for children and parents too.
Next week we also have Head Teacher Question Time. Next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. we shall be holding a question time session for parents to come and raise their questions with me and the assistant heads. They’ll be coffee and biscuits too. Please come ready with a question.
We are looking forward to the Y1 and Y2 Chinese New Year celebration. They will be performing for parents on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.Stressful weekend coming up for me. My very old (but very beautiful) car is due for an MOT. It should be fine because it’s lovingly cared for but it is almost 25 years old. I really ought to be driving the run-around spare car during the winter but I like my old car better. Old things are normally better. (ahem! Did I mention it’s my birthday soon?) I’ll let you know how it gets on next week.
The other stressful thing for me this weekend is that it’s the beginning of the 6 nations championship in rugby. It’s England v France tomorrow. Bon Chance les Anglais, allez les blanc!
Have a good weekend everyone
See you on Monday, don’t be late.
