Happy happy sunny Friday everyone!
I’m exhausted! The week of the SATs testing for the Y6 children is next week and I’ve been the grammar king with the pupils this week. It’s been all present perfect, past participles, subjunctives, modals, determiners and auxiliary verbs!
The children have worked so hard this year and made so much progress. We all wish them well for next week. The week after that we start SATs for KS1 pupils in Y2 and then a few weeks later, it’s Phonics screening for Y1 pupils. Welcome to the British Summer!
Speaking of Summer (!), it’s been so cold in school this week that we decided to put the heating on yesterday………which was the warmest day of the week. It was boiling! We can’t quite get it right yet!
I was talking to a chap about our new library resources this week and he said to me,
"I'm going to chop off the bottom of one of your trouser legs and put it in a library”.
I thought “That's a turn-up for the books!”
My beautiful old Jaguar has been passed on to the men from the scrap yard. It was a very sad moment for me. Tears streaming down my face, I kept hanging on to the door as they took it away. Caring, Mrs C came rushing over to me and said some words that hit home. She said, “Buck up and stop being so silly, it’s just an old car!”
She just doesn’t understand; it’s no wonder I have headaches!
Have a great weekend everyone. Don’t be late on Monday-we have a very busy few weeks ahead.
