Friday 9th September 2017

It’s Friday! Thank goodness!

We’ve all made it to the end of week 1. It feels like week 5 though, but it has been great to see all our children return safe and sound and so very smart! Well done mums and dads, we are still the smartest school in Nottingham.

I went looking for a new television for school this week and saw an advert in a window that said, “Television for sale, £1, volume stuck on full.”

I thought, “I can’t turn that down.”

We have many new children joining us this term and we are very pleased to welcome them all. I know our children will be welcoming too and help them find their way around school.

It’s been a busy first week in school with everyone getting used to being back in school and getting used to their new classrooms. Mrs Norton’s started swimming this week and many of the KS2 classes are preparing for their trip to Eden Camp on Monday. Make sure you are up early; we leave at 6:45 a.m.

This week we awarded school ties to all our most trusted pupils in Y6.  These children are our most senior and most responsible and we are proud that they wear their uniform and tie with pride. We look forward to working with them this year.

It was good to see so many parents attend our Y6 parents’ meeting on Wednesday. We explained what will be happening this year and what to expect in the SATs tests in May. We intend holding similar meetings for each class. We’ll let you know when they are due.

Please remember to send back your responses to our permissions letter and medical update letter. This will help us carry out the business of schooling and also help us support your child as much as possible.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I’m off to get some new school shoes. I’ll make sure they’re polished and ready for Monday; children, make sure yours are the same. We are re-introducing the shiny shoe challenge next week.

See you on Monday.

Mr. C.
